Sacramento County libraries hand out free at-home testing kits - Fox 40 News

Summary: Sacramento County libraries in California have initiated the distribution of free at-home COVID-19 rapid test kits, aiming to bolster community testing efforts. The Sacramento County Public Health Department reported that over 91,000 test kits have been allocated to the Sacramento County Library System and the Folsom Public Library. Individuals are eligible to receive two kits each on a first-come, first-served basis, each kit containing two antigen tests. Curbside pickup of these kits is offered during regular library hours. This initiative comes as the county's seven-day average case rate reaches 72.4 cases per 100,000 people, and the distribution of testing supplies for schools faces delays due to recent severe weather conditions.

Sacramento City Councilwoman Mai Vang posted a photo to Twitter showing some of her staffers picking up kits from the Central Library on Tuesday.

“Team #heartandhustle just picked up some free at-home COVID tests at @saclib Central Library — At-home test kits will be available for curbside pick-up while supplies last at any library location during regular hours of operation,” Vang tweeted.
